What to expect

 

So maybe your thinking church in a movie theater...what about my kids? Well, it's been our experience that kids not only enjoy Kid City and church at the movies, but they spend their week begging their parents to come back.  At the Regal Cinemas, we have incredible kids' environments setup in a variety of theaters and rooms, each created to engage children of different age levels, featuring exciting music, both video and live teaching elements, small groups, activities, and more.  It is specially designed children's environment for kids six weeks old through fifth grade and we invite every family to take a personal tour of Kid City on their first visit to NLC. 

We Value Relationships

We desire that each child develops a saving and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. We also value our children’s relationships within a small group setting as they connect with their leaders and the other children in their group.  As families commit to attending the same experience each week, children are able to connect with a group of familiar faces where relationships can grow for a lifetime!

We Value Age Appropriateness

We are passionate about children learning about Jesus in a way they understand. That is why our environments and lesson materials are selected based on the physical, mental and emotional needs of each child.  For the same reason, we strongly encourage parents to drop their children off at Kid City before entering the adult experience.  This allows parents to enjoy their experience without distractions and allows each child to learn in an environment created for them.

We believe that safety is vital as families entrust us with their children each week. Therefore, every child is matched to a parent-identification number or pager, every volunteer is screened with an interview and federal background check, and every hallway is monitored with security.  

We Value Creative Bible Teaching

The Bible is the most amazing book ever written!  We strive to bring its stories to life through activities and discussions that keep children engaged. We want all children to love God’s word and understand the value of applying it to their lives.

Kids love fun! We realize that when children have fun at church, they can’t wait to come back. We value creating fun ways for children to learn about Jesus.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's my first time at NLC, what do I do?

As soon as you walk through the theater doors, there will be people and signage to point you in the right direction.  For each age group there is a check in station where you will register your children. After your child is registered, you will be encouraged to take a tour of our Kid City to ensure your comfort.

What exactly happens in Kid City?

Every child three and older will experience specially selected music, teaching (both live and on the big screen) and small group activities, followed by several fun games and activities.

Who are the workers?

A collection of both staff and volunteers from within NLC.  All of them have been selected, trained, and have gone through a criminal background check.  Each worker has a clear understanding of the large privilege and responsibility of teaching your children.

What should I do after Kid City?

When you check your child out of Kid City you will receive a "fridge door card" which contains all of the information you need to know about what your child learned, the theme for the month, and great suggestions for you to follow up with your child at home.
