Scripture: Psalms 109:31 “For He stands beside the needy, ready to save them
from those who condemn them.”

Main Idea: We all have a need to live totally free and to overcome our past.

Key Thought: A lie believed as true will affect your life as if it were true.

Discuss:

1. Are you still believing any lies about yourself? How can you be transformed by
the renewing of your mind?

2. What deceitful (not God honoring) desires are you still pursuing? How can
they be made new?

3. God so wants to help restore what has been lost. What do you need restored
in your life?

4. God wants to heal all of our wounds, what wounds do you have that still need
healing and need to be brought to God for His healing touch?

5. Unforgiveness will keep us captive as long as we harbor or keep it. Who do
you need to forgive for any offense against you? You are not condoning the
hurt, you are being set free from it.

Next Steps: Forgive every person and situation you have unforgiveness for and
ask God to forgive you.

Verses to learn: Eph. 4:32 “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

We pray. We hope. We have bold faith, believing God for the impossible. And it doesn’t happen. The promotion falls through. The marriage falls apart. The cancer only gets worse. Bad things happen. What do we do then? And where is God in these situations? And where do we turn?

No matter where you find yourself today rest knowing that your not alone. God is not absent in His silence. He sees you and He knows and He walks with you. God is able. He is still in control. This weekend Pastor Josh will be teaching from our "Who Do You Think You Are" series on how we move beyond the disappointments and hurts in our life. Be sure to be there early to grab a seat and prepare your heart for a powerful and encouraging message.

Here are a few exciting things happening at NLC Newington:

• On Sunday, June 23rd we will be celebrating with dozens of NLC'ers getting baptized. At NLC we like to say that baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. If Jesus has changed your life and you have never been baptized this is your opportunity to go public in your faith. • On Saturday, June 15th we will be having a "work day" at the NLC Seacoast facility. Starting at 8:00am we will be having dozens of volunteers working on different projects inside and out getting the building ready for final renovations. We need as many people as we can get to with construction projects, landscaping, cleaning, and various other projects. To sign up to help or for more info email daniel@nlc.tv.

• We are planning a very special Fathers Day at Next Level Church this year! Be sure to come this weekend to get the details of the day and be sure to make plans to be at NLC on June 16th to celebrate our Dads.
